Whether you’re cruising solo or embarking on an adventure with friends and family, the 2022 Ford Explorer has all the space, power, and features you need for a memorable journey.
Meet the Explorer ST-Line
For 2022, Ford has added the new ST-Line trim to the Explorer lineup. This new variation builds on the offerings of the athletic Explorer ST trim with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine for enhanced efficiency. On the inside, the new trim complements its agile performance with sporty looks thanks to its sport steering wheel and simulated suede seating with red stitching. The exterior presents sport-focused styling as well with black accents and unique badging, all riding on 20-inch wheels. As soon as you open the door to get in, you’ll also notice distinctive ST protector plates in the door jambs.
Modern Tech and Amenities
The Explorer comes standard with seating for seven, and the SUV promises a cushioned ride for all your passengers. Cloth upholstery comes standard, while Ford offers interior upgrades like leather upholstery, heated seating, and massaging front seats. Standard-issue tech features for 2022 include a Wi-Fi hotspot, smartphone connectivity for Apple and Android, and satellite radio.
Smart Safety Tools
The Explorer also provides a long list of standard safety features to complement its high safety test scores. The SUV is equipped to protect you and your passengers with driver assistance systems like blind-spot monitoring, forward automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Ford’s MyKey tech also comes standard, allowing you to establish limits on speed and radio volume when you let a secondary driver take the wheel. Additional safety tech options include road sign recognition and evasive steering assist.
Reliable Ford Performance
Several engine options are available for the Explorer, and the base model runs on a turbocharged 300-horsepower 4-cylinder that pairs peppy acceleration with refreshingly efficient gas mileage. The SUV is also available with a hearty 400-horsepower V6 for even more umph, and either option works well with the Explorer’s 10-speed automatic transmission. The SUV handles with ease in town and on the highway, and you can opt for the Timberline trim if you have trail exploration in your summer plans.
