A sport that has been gaining in popularity these days is FootGolf, which combines soccer and golf. Players use a regulation-size soccer ball and kick it off a tee box toward the green. They try to kick the ball into a hole that is 21 inches in diameter in as few strokes as possible. Like traditional golfers, FootGolf players face bunkers and other hazards en route to the green. A game consists of nine holes and typically takes one or one and a half hours to play.

Country Oaks Golf Course was built in 1979 as a nine-hole course for citizens of and visitors to Thomasville, Georgia. After a few years, leaders saw a need to add nine more holes to complete the full 18-hole course. Later, in 2006, the city added a 3,500-foot clubhouse to the property.
