Can you think of anything better than holiday cookie baking? Once the temperature starts to drop a bit, the combination of throwing on a sweater, lighting cozy candles, and baking the weekend away is one that can only be beaten by a select few activities. Christmas cookies and Thanksgiving cookies bring a more traditional theme to the table, but Halloween is your chance to really unleash the creativity you’ve been holding back all year.
If you’re feeling stuck and not sure where to begin your spooky-season baking, there is actually a class being held in the area that can help you out! Marie’s Kakes is holding a Halloween Cookie Class, and it’s sure to bring all kinds of fun that you can take home to your own kitchen!
IconiCookies
Hocus Pocus, the Disney original starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, is a Halloween staple at this point. People all over the world start turning this movie on as early as August and September, ready to live the magic of Halloween. So if you are one of the many fans the movie has attracted, this cookie class really is for you! The theme of the cookies will be Hocus Pocus, so you will have the chance to make cookies that look like your favorite characters from the film.
All you need to participate in the class is yourself, your drink of choice, and a willingness to get a little creative/weird. Tickets are $45, and goers are asked not to share tickets; one ticket per person. You can’t miss this event on October 18, from 6-8 p.m.

If You Don’t Like Baking…
If baking is not your thing, or you’re simply uninterested in making cookies yourself, you can still find yourself leaving with Halloween-themed goodies to feed the family. Marie’s Kakes has a whole selection of cookies that perfectly define October, and the cookies even go beyond that.
For Halloween, take your pick from a set of mixed Halloween cookies (bat, spider web, pumpkin, ghost, candy corn, etc.) a decorate-your-own Haunted House kit, a Halloween mini-set (featuring the same designs as the mixed cookies only smaller), and others.
While you’re at it, go ahead and grab some for the upcoming holidays too, before all of the good stuff is gone. They have many Thanksgiving sets featuring cornucopias, pumpkins, and acorns, and even sweet little Christmas elves, stockings, and candy canes.
