Participating stores and restaurants keep the doors open until 10 p.m. on First Friday so that you can do some late-night shopping and dining during the event. Also, many of the restaurants set up outdoor seating for the evening, so you won’t have to disconnect from the community during your meal.

Catch a Free Concert
Live music is a big part of First Friday, with a free concert from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Ritz Amphitheater each month. Garnet and Soul are gearing up for the April 1 event. Then Southward Soul will take the stage the following month.
Garnet and Soul is a funky soul band known for playing some of the biggest hits. If you’ve seen them perform, you might have been lucky enough to catch their version of Prince’s hit, “Kiss.” This is just one of the many popular songs they tackle, so expect to get on your feet and do some dancing while they perform.
If you’re itching for some southern-style music, you’ll want to see Southward Soul perform on May 6. The band’s original music has notes of blues, rock, soul, and folk. You might not know the band’s hits yet, but you’ll be a fan after watching them perform.
Live music, dining, and shopping set the stage for a fantastic night out in downtown Thomasville. Add in the strong sense of community, and you’re sure to love the event. Thus, head over on April 1 and then come back the following month. It runs through December, so you’ll have lots of opportunities to have fun with other Thomasville residents.
