The Specifics
This event is hosted every year on election night, and the 2019 edition will take place on Tuesday, November 5. The food will be prepared over an open fire in cast iron kettles on the History Center grounds and serves as a way to preserve the history of the area. All of the proceeds support programs and preservation of history within the area.
You can come grab a plate from 4:30 until 7 p.m. on the night of, and tickets have been on sale since September 27 online and at the History Center. You can either eat in or take your plate to go, but if you stay you’ll have the chance to enjoy it with others in the community, and what’s more special than that?

With your ticket, you purchase several things: A plate featuring pilau, coleslaw, pickles, crackers, and dessert provided by Flowers Baking Company, and you also get a night of memories and another year of traditional fun.
